                             Our Mission
Lagrange Development Corporation is a community organization comprised of residents, business owners, community institutions, and other interested individuals who work together to maintain and enhance a neighborhood of economic and ethnic diversity. Founded in 1981 to improve the quality of life in the historic Polish International Village, our non-profit community development organization has evolved into a strong community partner that invests more than two million dollars annually in the neighborhood.

Polish International Village is characterized by churches, schools, club rooms, groceries, meat markets, hardware stores, and apparel shops, to name just a few. The business district also has a tremendous asset in the Ohio Theatre, one of Toledo’s last remaining historic theaters still in operation.

Many residents have lived in this community all their lives. The neighborhood is a place where people care about their homes and where craft workers have turned plain interiors into works of art. The people also care about their heritage, and many of the businesses help keep that spirit alive. The heart of the business district is Lagrange Street - or Lagrinka to many - the center of Toledo’s largest concentration of people of Polish ancestry for over 130 years.
